Hi willieram,
I haven't integrated your updates into the latest release of Joomulus. Do you mind if I go through and add your changes to the mod?

Hi tehnz, I see two possible sources for the error. First, try setting the parameter Transparency to yes.
Second, if that does not make it, then I see a problem on the way the urls are encoded with those options.
First try with transparency and let's see if that makes it. The other point requires some coding.
When Transparency set to YES, same problem - no list nor cloud.
I did also tried writing the search url into the XML file. Again, problems with display but no problem when i write a short simple url in XML.
BTW, I think your patch did the trick about 'Errors on page'. Not longer get that. YIPPEEE. thanks.

Sure, not a problem! Only consider that this might impact sites that are successfully using SWFObject < 2.0 on some other extension, so perhaps some documentation warning at least should be written. My posts are a good base for that. Let me know if I can be of help.
Willieram.

Then what is left out is the encoding of the "tagcloud:" parameter... I will have to sit down for that, as the version I am working on has heavy customization yet very alpha (I would need to pack a new version for you).
I'll try to do it within this week.
Best regards, Willie.

I use one other FlashObject in my site (the pic of Sydney harbour) and the patch has not affected it. All sweet in my case. MUCH OBLIGED.

For those interested, I found a temporary solution to solving this problem.
I use the www.tinyurl.com website to convert my long search url to a simple url and use this simple url as the link for my tagwords.
I prefer using the SD option cos it is more applicable for my site.

Hi Flom, Hi Willieram
thanks for all the work on this great module. Willieram you posted a version that used swfobject 2.0, but it seems to have got dropped in the latest version (ie, it's back to swfobject 1.4). The 1.4 doesn't work for me, but the latest version has a fix for the mysterious typos...
is there a way to incorporate 2.0 into the latest version with all the fixes?
many thanks

Sorry Guys, tied up with lot of things on this year-end.
I've crafted a new version that tries a first attempt to clean up the code and solve the url encoding issue when using SD tags.
Remember the use of the swfobject parameter, to set it to no if you load it elsewhere, or set it to yes if your template doesn't load it with another extension or component.
Merry Christmas!!

Hi Willieram
oops doesn't work for me... i get this on the front page:
Fatal error: Call to a member function addCustomHeadTag() on a non-object in //modules/mod_joomulus/helper.php on line 369
not using the SD function anyway, so gone back to the version you posted here a while back which is the only one that works on my site ...
Merry Christmas and thanks for keeping at it !

Thanks Willieram, works perfectly!
now, one question ... the latest downloadable version on this site (1.0.6) has a fix for the typos, but i can't use it because it uses swfobject 1.4 which breaks the other scripts, unlike yours. Can i swap the bit of code that is the typos fix? (which part is it?) into your version?
thanks again !
cheers

Yes, no problem, it's GPL. Repost here so the owner can evaluate to distribute a new version.

UPDATE: SOLVED
I find that I can now use the search url without needing to resort to tinyurl.com, once I have activated the SEO/SEF in global config in Joomla 1.5.8.
