I know this probably a simple thing but I just cannot figure it out so could someone please explain to me how I make the tag sizes larger? Currently they are tiny.

I assume you are taking about Joomulus.
If you are using v1.06, you get three options within, AR, XML or SO. For AR option, you cannot change the size of the tag words because that is dependence on how frequency those words appeared on your site. The greater the frequency, the larger the size.
To change the size of the tag words, you can do that using XML or SO options. But for them, the tag words are as determined by you (i.e. not based on frequency of use).
