JOOMULUS 04/10 DOESN'T WORK IN IE7/IE8 !! 4 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I've just updated to the latest version of Joomulus prior to putting my new site live and find that it works well in all browsers except IE7/IE8.

Specifically, the tag cloud is replaced by non styled links only!

Advice would be appreciated quickly.

Be Well,

Bloody hell, that was fast!

Greetings from the "Old World" and looking forward to hearing of a resolution!

Seems to be related to rendering the SWF object.

Cheers for that - It's after midnight here in NZ but I am sure he can look at it tomorrow - approx 8-10 hours from now.

Welcome,

Don't work too late since it's not good for the soul (unless you have a fine irish whiskey in hand as well)!

Holiday here tomorrow and planning working on the site then so any advice when the guru's get to work would me most appreciated.

By the way, is there a method to make the cloud constantly rotate?

I'll await an answer on that till tomorow too since am sure you'll be wanting to get to bed.

Be Well,

CHRIS

I'm having the same problem. Except Joomulus is working on IE7, but not IE8.

Thanks for looking into this!

sorry for may late reply guys. I've been away from Joomlabear for a while.
I've found it works on IE8. Can you post a links so I can view your HTML source. I'm hoping its a conflict with some other javascript file.

Hey Bambi!

Welcome back, greetings from a hot and sunny UK and thanks for the response.

Many many apologies that I didn't mark this as solved, but it turned out to be a browser issue on a new Windows 7 box (it seems I'd either downed one too many whiskies or was being singularly stupid at the time)!

While I have your attention can I ask a favour please?

I use the module on the news section of my website with links to the key broadcasters (BBC, CNN, AlJazeera et al) and print outlets I write leader comment for (New York Times, Washington Post blah blah) and it's a pretty cool way to show these outlets.

It would be even more cool it it were possible to have the cloud run with continuous motion though.

I looked at Roy's website, tried editing the SWF as suggested, but just couldn't figure it out (evidently I'm no coder)!

Is it possible for you guys to post a version with continual motion for we users who have such a need?

I know it's a big ask for a free gratis module but am sure you'd get much lurvvv back from those of us with such a need or desire :-)

Thanks once again.

Be Well,

CHRIS

That's funny. Yesterday it didn't work, today it's working fine.

Well, the tag cloud looks good, so I'm happy!

Thanks for the response.

Stephanie

P.S. I agree that dynamic movement would be cool; I'd just be concerned about more javascript conflicts that could arise.
