Hi there, I have been a long time user and fan of Joomulus, and just upgraded from the flom 1.6 version to the new 2.0 version today.

One thing I notice is that the text#1 and text#2 colour is now handled differently.
It used to be spread between the different font sizes, which gave some great variety in the cloud so you could make out different phrases.

Now it seems its spread between the front and back phrases - which is not really needed for the 3d effect as the old one used to just 'fade' the front and back... so it still looked #D.

anyway, is it possible to have back the functionality of the colour spread between the 'font sizes'

Marty

PS. This is how the new one looks....

Hi Marty,
My understanding was that the colour always behaved in the way it does now?
I'll have to check with my partner who is developing Joomulus.
I really like the screen shot you uploaded - what's your site link?

But I see your point - in the second screen shot which wasn't there a moment ago.
Hmmm we'll look into it.

Thanks for that...
I just did a quick test and it seems to be an issue of the spread ratio....

I put one of my fonts as size:6 and another size:50 and it does change the colours the way as in the 'old' one.. so I will have a look in the code myself and see if I can compare it and find a difference between the new and old one...

my website is http://www.marty.com.au
and Joomulus fits in very well with the sci-fi sculpture and science fiction art theme

It totally rocks! so thanks!

:)

I'm sure we can tweak the colour stuff - my partner has limited time now until next week but we'll get to it.

Thanks... :) I like the look of your new transparentbear template too. always been a fan of transparent templates...

not sure if this might help your bug finding however, I have been having a play with different settings and noticed that if I use my text sizes of 16, 20 and 24 - there is not much variation with the colour
if I use 1, 3 and 5 for the same corresponding tags, it does the right colours right, (but you need a magnifying glass to read them haha)
I have limited PHP experience.... so cant halp you that much...

just an update on this, it seems that the difference between the lowest and higest font size needs to be 3.5x or more for it to work and be noticable...

thats why smallest=1 bigest=5 works
or smallest=16 bigest=50 works

but smallest=16 bigest=24 doesnt work, as thats not even 2x

anyway, thats exhausted my knowledge on the topic! so over to you, and I understand that it might be a little while as you are busy...

;)

Hi Marty,
We're still a little snowed under and Lex is not available until Monday - have put this issue in front of him though so it's on his mind...
Will be in touch.

Hmmm this is the first chance I've had to look at it...
mArty is a really cool site!
And thanks for the pointer 3.5x in variance, that helps. I think the solution would be to go to a 1 to 5 drop down in the parameters for how important you want this word to be, instead of the font size text field.

...well, let me know what I have to do when you know!

And thanks for the nice words about my website I am a big fan of the translucent style templates - yours looks tops and it has what mine needs, rounded corners...
