TOPIC: width of components on right

width of components on right 3 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 1
Hi, I'm using Joomla 1.0 and Blackbear.
My question is this...
when I installed fireboard, it filled the whole content pane.
But when I just installed Jevents, the calendar (grid) looks squished over to the left of the content pane.

Is there a right-hand module position that's causing that or something? I don't have anything on the right. Just a left-hand Main menu and then all the content on the right.

thanks,

Hiya,

I know from experience that fireboard is coded to be fluid width - i.e. it always takes up the full width of the available space.

Most probably jevents has a set width that is somewhat smaller than the template content area - try installing the web developer toolbar for fireworks and once installed use CTRL-SHIFT-Y together - this activates a tool that lets you hover over any element on the page and when you click on it will show you the relevant CSS - very useful as it will tell you where the style sheet for jevents is located in your joomla installation and what classes are controlling the styling (width).

it says html>body>div #wrapper>div #container>div #innercontainer> div #content >table .contentpaneopen > tbody >tr >td > fieldset

But which HTML>body is that? html at the root of the site, root of the template, or root of the jevents?

There is only one HTML tag for a web page.

When you click that element does it give you a frame with more details for the jevents css?

no it doesn't.
I had to type all that by hand. lol.
there was no window with details that would pop up like when I clicked on other things.

But solved it.
Jevents maker said to make .contentpaneopen set to 100% width.
I found that in the Layout.css for the template.

Seem strange Joomlabear?<br><br>Post edited by: cra2, at: 2008/08/23 20:03

.contentpaneopen doesn't have any styles associated with it (on install). I'm not sure how that would solve the problem. As there is no width applied in the first place it should be flexible. Do you have a link to a live example of this issue? I'd be interested in investigating this.

Well, I did. But not anymore. It's solved now, by setting contentpaneopen to 100% like Jevents said.
Now, as you can see at, www.centralfloridasierra.org/index.php?o...s&amp; Itemid=53, the calendar fills most of the right pane.
Before I made that change, it was only filling about half of the right pane (the left half).
To test, install jevents calendar and Fireboard forums on the Blackbear template. In my case, the forums filled the right side, but the calendar was squished.
