Transparent bliss background problem 2 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Okay, I have 2 small problems.
1. I have centered my background image on the website okay and now know how to sort the background colour.
But, I cannot change the background image.
Have check the spelling, permissions etc and all correct.
From my cPanelX the image I want is correct,(I deleted the old image and ftp the new one into a new folder and renamed it) everything in backend is set to point to this image, but I keep getting the old one. Have purged all cahes and the browser, but still no luck.
Any ideas?
2. Have added a second menu section to the left bottom panel, but it shows slightly to the right, which I don't understand as the css is the same section for this menu.
Any help would be appreciated.
My web site is garagestmaren.com

Just checking - you that if you put new image into a new folder you will have to change the path in the CSS to point to this folder - it would be easier just to replace the original image and leave the location the same.

Cannot bring your site up at this stage - can you check you have posted the correct link?

If I can see your site I can proabbly trouble shoot the menu issue for you.

OOPS! should have read garagestmarien.com
With the background image, I first tried to just overwrite the file with the new image, it worked 2 or 3 times before, but now it just won't change, so I tried it a different way, but still no luck.
I can't understand where the old image is sitting.

I'm seeing this background

Are you sure you are not seeing a cached version of the image?

Try another browser - google chrome is nifty - I have 4-5 browsers installed and it's sometimes a quick way of checking the cache issue, doa bit of cross browser testing while you are about it ;-)

What you are seeing is the old background pic. The new one is a top view of a car straight down the middle and this shows up on my image6.jpg on cPanelX.
The template in admin is set to show image6.
What I don't understand is where this old image is coming from as I deleted it.
I have checked it on 39 ! browsers (I use browsers.org) and apart from the wrong background, everything is fine.
I've also checked it on 2 computers at home, one running xp and firefox, my ain one running windows 7 and ie8 / firefox beta 3.41

The image must still be present on the server - can you try this:

Delete the image off the server completely - don't put the new one up yet.

Visit the site in your browser and you should see no image.

Place the new background image in the background_images directory.

Make sure the image name is spelt with the same upper/lower case as original.

This is bizzare!
I have deleted all images.
Purged present and expired cache. Deleted all browser history and now I have one of the original backgrounds showing as image 2.
Where are they hidden?

There are no hidden images in our templates...

You will have to email me FTP access to your server (dont post here for security reasons) and I'll take a look.

info at joomlabear or use the contact form
