Can you tell me what items you would put into this text box? Is this where you tell the robots not to cache the /admin files? If so, how do you write this?

These guys do a pretty good job of tidying up the robots stuff so we don't need to think about it ;-)

Also adds control of the HTML Title tag to your article parameters - very, very useful for SEO.

Hi Big Bear,
thanks for the SEO link, it's great. I've installed it and it looks good so far. I am puzzled as to how to get my pages to display in the URL so that the PHP file is not displayed. The answer may be in front of me but I am not seeing it. Also, in regards to those pesky robots, what setting to I select to exclude my /admin files? I guess otherwise robots are a good thing???

If you have FTP'd all of the SEF patch files there is a robots.txt included that blocks the admin side of things - I would just leave it with the SEF patch defaults.

Install sh404SEF and then in advanced options for the component tell it to use .htaccess and no index.php in URL (ther eis an option in a dropdown). Also in Joomla global config turn on SEF Urls and set it to use mod_rewrite. Last FTP into your site root - find htaccess.txt and rename to .htaccess

I've tried and tried but no bananas. I can't even see it in Joomal, only in my root directory. I'm doing something wrong and I don't know what. Any ideas?

So with sh404SEF you want to install it through the extension manager in Joomla admin - are yuo doing this? just checking.

I uploaded the files with my FTP. I can see them only when I look in the directory but I can't see the module in module manager to work with. I am lost as to what to do from here. I worked on it all day Friday and have no answers as to what to do next.

With sh404SEF you just install it - using the extension manager in your Joomla admin - no need to upload files.
