Setting up my new site using "Trans Bear" template and was wanting to experiment. Can the background be changed to place my uploaded image ?

Hiya,
You can replace the background images using FTP, they are all in a directory called /background_images.

You can see the path in our demo here:
transparentbliss15.joomlabear.com/ templa...nd_images/image2.jpg

If you name your new images; image1.jpg, image2.jpg, etc

Have been going through the forums, having trouble finding where exactly is the file I need to FTP my new image to in the Trans Bear. Looked in all the files that were loaded at the Joomla install , media manager and stories,etc can't seem to find the /background_images file to FTP my new image to ? Any help would be much appreciated . Thanks

Hi HobbleHill,
Your background is located here:
hobblehill.com/templates/transbear/image...ound2/ background.jpg

If you click that link and have a look at the URL you will see the path ot the file is:

/templates/transbear/images/

and the there are four folders/directories called background1, background2, etc

If you have any trouble with this just send through the image(s) and I will look at it for you.

OK, I hope this correct so far ? I created a new background 5 directory, I did not want to repace the first four images just in case I wanted them later. ftp'ed up the new image ,ok How do I point the site to load the new image?

It is possible to add a 5th background image however it is fairly complex as we would need to make some amends to the params.ini as well, and then if you wanted it to show on the front end we would also need to redesign the thumbnail selectors to fit.

Another way which is reasonably straightforward is to rename one of the background.jpg images - e.g. rename background.jpg to background-backup.jpg. Then you can upload your new background.jpg without overwriting - most FTP clients will let you rename files simply by clicking on the title.

I think I'm getting it. I did get the image to come up, in background 4 , but now I need to figure out the size? what is a good size image for the template backgound? I may need to get a larger image ? Thanks check it out www.hobblehill.com PS . how does one donate to Joomla Bear?

Hi HobbleHill - looks like you are making progress!

I think a much bigger picture would be great - the template is setup so that even if the picture is bigger than the viewers screen, the picture will still remain centered.

We used to have a donate module but it's not currently on the website. I really appreciate your thought - however lets get your website launched first ;)
