Drop down menu 2 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
I did some research on the forum. I'm trying to implement a drop down menu in the nav-bar. I put the following in the css of nav-bar sheet of superfish but i still get the vertical menu:

#nav {
position:static;
}

#nav ul,#nav li{
list-style-type:none;
margin:0;
}

#nav {
position:static;
margin-right: 36px;
font-size: 12px;
border-left-width: 1px;
border-left-style: solid;
border-left-color: #CCCCCC;
}

#nav li {
position:left;
font-size: 12px;
text-align: center;
display: inline;
vertical-align: middle;
border-right-width: 1px;
border-right-style: solid;
border-right-color: #CCCCCC;
}

#nav a {
position:left;
height: 27px;
line-height: 26px;
text-decoration:none;
color: #000000;
font-weight: bold;
padding-left:15px;
padding-right:15px;
}

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes! You can do it with pretty much anything. I used swmenu free. I played with CSS with "Big Bear"'s help. If you want I could send you the placing for top nav. Site is not live else I would show you. These guys are awesome btw. Big Bear spent a good amount of time helping me out.

Hi there,
I'm using swmenufree with the polarbear pro template. It works well in Firefox, but in IE7 the menu items is piled on top of each other. Do you experience the same problem? If not, I would be very thankfull if you could send me the CSS!

Sorry for the late reply.

Are you sure IE7 is doing that? Usually that problem occurs in IE6.

I'm attaching both the css. Update them on your site. Now note that this might not display the menu perfectly as there are some changes in swmenu component you may need to make.

I don't remember what I changed. Make sure you set the menu as "trans=menu".

Let me know if it helps. If you need me to look into it I can help you.

Also, you may also note that with my css the menu appears on the right ONLY for IE6. That is because of some complications with IE6. It took me 5 hours to figure out that.

Hi again,
I tried out your css file, and ended up with the same result; the parent menu items on top of each other. However, when I take the mouse over the menu items, they spread out one by one. I've looked through the CSS code, but I can't figure out what the problem is.

Want to take a look? www.bs-lk.no

My swmenu is in "trans menu" mode, and it is the newest version of swmenu..

Hmmm! :dry:

Any help is greatly appreciated
