Black Bear Template is messed up! 4 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Hey guys, first post here and it's bad news I'm afraid.

I downloaded the BlackBear.zip file and installed it via my administration panel, I'm running Joomla 1.5

The installation was reported a success so i headed to the template manager to set black bear as my default template.

Upon clicking the preview button i am greeted with a white page and a bunch of text links, basically the text part of the site is there but there are no images whatsoever!

I checked the directory to make sure that everything out of the zip file had uploaded and it was all there, no files were corrupt.

I tried a couple of other templates and they worked fine, all images in place as they should be.

I have attached an image of what i see when i visit the front page, i hope someone knows how to solve this issue as i really like the black bear template.

Thanks for your time.

Rich

I think it was designed for joomla 1.0.* I don't know too much about joomla 1.5 yet haven't had the time to play with it. I did find this though

<link rel="stylesheet" href="templates/system/css/system.css" type="text/css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="templates/system/css/general.css" type="text/css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="templates/<?php echo $this->template ?>/css/template.css" type="text/css" />

In joomla 1.0.* you call style sheets with something like
<link href="<?php echo $mosConfig_live_site;?>/templates/waiheke/css/ template_css.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

It looks like you don't need to link to a css template with the full link any more. Try replacing the link to the css file with

<link rel="stylesheet" href="templates/<?php echo $this->template ?>/css/template.css" type="text/css" />
And remember to replace 'template.css' with what ever black bear's css file is called. It could be an idea to include those top too css links also as I belive Joomla 1.5 uses them.

I've got the same problem here, with blackbear 2 columns...it worked until yesterday but now I've re-installed it and I've got the same kind of page...(polarbeard still work for me), are there any tmp file I can delete or something else to have it working again??

thanks

Glad you like it :)

We had a small glitch when our host updated PHP to a newer version and some our Joomla 1.5 sites stopped working properly - this may have been an issue some of you guys were experiencing...

Easily solved by updating to the latest version of Joomla
