Hi Golden,
To make the center wider you would also have to reduce the size of one of the other columns - assuming you are using a 3col layout?
Do you have a link to your site?

Hi Big Bear,

so first thank you for the great work.
Transbear is cool and Joomulus is fantastic.

I am also looking for a solution how to make the center of Transbear wider, if it is possible without reducing the size of the right and left columns. Is this possible ?

Hi Chris,
Thx for your kind words.
Regarding the increase in width - It is possible but I don't recommend it.
The total template width is 990pixels - I create most of my sites at this width because it's pretty much the maximum that will fit onto 1024x768 screens when you consider the scroll bar and browser chrome (the little border around most browsers) take up around 20-30 pixels.

If you go wider users on these smaller screens will get a horizontal scroll bar.

If you really want to do it I can cut you some new background slices and give you direction to modify widths in template.css.

Cheers

Hi Big Bear,

you are right. This was an beginner-mistake from me ... ;) I have tested it and in 1024x768 your trmplate fits perfect, so i shouldn't change the size.

So i must try to take only 2 columns, but i am just looking for a good dropdown menu for joomla 1.5 (native).
As i read in the forum you are using swmenu, but i didn't find a 1.5 native version.

Because i don't want to use the legacy mode i still have to look for the right way, perhaps you have any idea ?

Thanks a lot

Chris
