Joomla Templates

Ok, I'm a noob and just downloaded one of the Joomlabear templates, but I just can't figure out how to setup a blog on my site. I have the articles enabled, but how do I enable people to comment on them?

Setting up a blog is easy and is controlled by the type of menu you create.

If you navigate to your Joomla admin and then to your menu manager you can add a new menu item - perhaps start by working on your main menu.

You will be prompted for the type of menu you wish to create - select articles initially and then select one of the blog layouts - you an control what categoris from your Joomla site will be displayed by setting various parameters.

I will make you a short video tomorrow showing how to do this - similar to the ones added to the blog today:

Thanks for the info on how to setup. Now, how do I enable and display the comments from various users? I see one of the blog postings (blog.joomlabear.com/joomla-templates-site-live- give-feedback/) that shows what I'm looking for - e.g. ability to show recent comments + allow users to leave comments. Is this basic Joomla functionality or a Comments extension? Thanks again for the help!

I'm actually running wordpress and Joomla on this site - the majority of the site is Joomla but I'm using wordpress just for what you see under the 'blog' tab.
If you are planning to run a site that is just a blog and nothing else then I would suggest that Wordpress may be a better option for this. I can offer some support for this if you decide it's a good option.
Otherwise you can run a blog off Joomla as mentioned but you are correct - comments are not integrated into Joomla and you will need an extension to accomplish this.

I believe the core Joomla team is looking at integrating comments into the next release of Joomla.
