Hello!

I am a new guy to Joomla. I'm doing a webpage for my hobby site, and i decided to use Joomla if i have found a nice and clean template. I have found the Black Bear template and i knew it in 1 sec that it is going to be the one :P

I downloaded it and installed it..but then i encountered some problems. Somehow the site is not the same as on the demo picture.

1. Im missing the LOGO. Is the LOGO not in the pack? Ofcourse i would change logo..but i dont know which file i have to change.

2. Im missing the pictures of nature, that change under LOGO. I would change those two, but i dunno how to implent them and how to implent my own pictures to change. Can u tell me?

3. The MAIN MENU buttons are not the same. The one thing that i LOVED on this template when i first saw it, were the main menu buttons..but mine are not the buttons from demo. There is only text. How to implent those buttons?

So actually my question is how to change the template that i have, to SAME template, that is on DEMO version..

Ty for your help! I really appretiate it! And keep up the good work!

Hi Hrastopow.
Joomla is a good choice for almost any site. It can take a bit of playing around to find out how it operates.

What version of Joomla are you using?? 1.0.13 or 1.5? Black bear was developed for earlier than 1.5 versions of Joomla. I haven't played with it in 1.5 but it should still work with a few quick changes.

If your hobby site is live on the web a link in this forum would be the easiest way to give us all an idea of your issues.

1. If you're using Fire Fox you can right click an image and click properties. This will tell you the location of the image. With that information you can navigate to the image with your chosen ftp program. I use dreamweaver for downloading and uploading files to my sites. The logo I'm guessing will be held in the template/images folder.

2. The pictures of nature wont be installed when installing the template. This is a separate module which you can also download. You'll have to install the module then select you're own images to display. Joomla bear has written a tutorial on implementing this image module
joomlabear.com/Tutorials/Joomla-Header-Image- Module-Setup.html

3. This is where a link to your site will come in handy. "The MAIN MENU buttons are not the same." We'll need to know how they're different to help correct the issue.

Let us know if that helps and hopefully you find Joomla useful. I recommend putting in the time to get used to its system. It will make life easier in the long run.

hello!

ty for info. I am using Joomla 1.13 or something (so NOT the 1.5 version)

okey so my site looks like this:

soo..

1. the biggest problem now are the pictures in menu..i played a bit around, and found out, how to change the text into a picture through changing the menu style from vertical to flat list. But somehow my menu is a bit too much to the right side and not between those 2 stripes.
What could i do wrong?

2. I have searched for logo pic yet. Will do that soon.

3. I havent impletned the pictures either. Will do that soon.

4. I also need Gallery. How can i implent it. Is that a seperate module and where to find it?

5. Is there a possibility to translate the names of MAIN MENU pictures (eg. Home, Contact US, News, Joomla License...) and UPPER MENU pictures (with those 4 tags) into my own language?

ty for your answers :)

I hope you understand what i mean :)

Okay!!!

I made some progression :P

I found out that there is a tutorial on the BlackBear demo template site, how to make a site just like the demo one and i followed it and made some things, such as logo and the header image show and fixed the main menu buttons.

Now i have few more questions.

1. I made a blank site with static content manager.
I also added the link to main menu. But the thing i want now is that drop down menus that u have. I found i topic how to make them, but i have a question, how to add more content under one content button.

For example: The link in my menu is "The Team". And when i would cross it with my mouse button, it would show (by drop down menu) all the names of the team members, and that i would click to one and it would throw me to that page. How to do that?

2. I want to change the NEWS a bit. First i want to ask if the News name, that is written on the index news page can be translated. Then i want to ask this:

www.imagehosting.com/show.php/ 1433620_site2.JPG.html
