Hi,

Can you tell me the diference between the transparent Bliss 2 free template and the one available for paid membership.

I understand that I can use the free one on unlimited sites and am free to modify, yet the paid membership restricts the use to three sites.

Am I missing something here.

Regards

John

Hi John,

A few points - the main one is that you can use the free templates on unlimited websites - but you are leaving the footer link in each site, which is a link back to Joomlabear - so there is a small benefit to us the more sites you build in this way.

The paid template license gets you both support AND the right to remove the logo/link on up to 3 sites - to be honest we are reviewing the 3 site rule as we investigate the GPL license and how we can apply this to what we do.

We are nice people and we rely on our users honesty here - if you build four sites we're not going to do anything about it - in all likelihood we're not even going to know...

It's about good karma, contributing to our running costs and the time it takes to create more templates.

In return I am also here providing support - the kind of support that earns us comments like this.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.

It seems to me as if you are shooting yourself in the foot giving such good templates for free though, as the majority of sites offering templates only give the old ones free and restrict the latest one's to members.

Still that is your customers good fortune.

You have convinced me and I shall take out a membership as I believe you deserve support for your products.

Thanks John,
We used to be 100% free at the start - and I loved simply contributing our work for others to use.
In the end the hours I spent working on the site and answering questions started to add up - 5 hrs per week became 10 became 20... And we had to charge something.

I forgot to mention the preview of:
joomlame.joomlabear.com/
This is in beta and is not linked to from the main site yet. It adds a top menu and module above content. The dropdown menu still needs some tweaking...
