like the title says
can you make the main content area wider on the
Transparent Bliss template?
i want to change the width to 650 wide
is it possible

I guess you would have to manually resize all files in Images folder which start with 'right' to 650 pixels width, and change in index.php all 600px values to 650.

does that mean that i need 2 make a copy of the picture and edit it 2 my size or just edit the size in the code

also do it edit it in the css or html page of the template

I think you'll have to edit the CSS file. #right will probably be set to 600px, change the CSS first and see if it's going to work.

Well i manages to edit the size of the top and bottom parts of the main content area to 700

but i am unable to do so with the middle of the main content area

i edited the html code to make the top and bottom larger

i also edited the css but that did nothing

Mine looks the same on a wide screen. Would like to have a 3rd column. I've asked Big Bear in another post.

It looks like #rightinner is whats affecting the template in your image. The width in the transparent bliss demo is set to 600px. See if that solves it.

I was playing around with this last night and thought I had it by stretching the image mainbg.png. Didn't work though. Big Bear where are you?

It's not to tricky if you can handle a little bit of CSS and fireworks to edit the transparent image slices to the size you wish and modify the template width.

I'm attaching the Fireworks PNG source files - these would need to be altered to the desired width and then you would need to open the template css file and change width of the #right and #rightinner to match the size of your new image slices - you will also need to open the template index.php and adjust the widths of the embedded slices to match your new dimensions.

If there is call for a specific site width we can make an additional wide format for you. Due the transparent png fix used in this template it's not possible to do a fluid width layout at this stage. But we could do a 990px wide layout that would work on 1024px resolution monitors and larger.

The best way of creating a bit more screen realestate is to move the vertical left logo to the top which is what we have done for our 3 column Joomla 1.5 version of Transparent Bliss - coming very very soon... <br><br>Post edited by: Big Bear, at: 2008/01/29 03:05
