BlackBearPro Template Problem 2 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
I have just installed the BlackBearPro template on my site www.sojealous.com
I can change the front page no-worries, but every other page has no formatting or images. Where did I go wrong?

Hiya,

Looks like the issue is tied to your SEF URL's (Search Engine Friendly). Try disabling those temporarily in Global Config and see if it works.

Then we can go over setting up SEF.

It also looks like your top menu is misaligned by a pixel or 2 - try checking the module params and set to "Legacy Flat List" - also check Menu Class Suffix has -nav

We have an updated BlackBear coming this week with built in dropdown menus - I will be sure to let you know as soon as this is ready.

I would like to know how to setup the SEF please.

@ R.Hillman - Glad that sorted it :)

@ Mike - I will put together a video tutorial in the next couple of hours for the SEF setup. It's probably easier than trying to type it up.

Great video and easy to follow! Problem is that SEO still will not work on my site after following these directions. I get URL not found when I click on Menu Items

Hi MikeB,

please try the following:

Go in the backend under the Global Configration and the "Use Apache mod_rewrite to" no

Runs? You have a link to your site?

I already tried turning "Use Apache mod_rewrite" NO. When I do that I can view any page just without styles.

ok, please edit also the .htaccess file and search the line:

# RewriteBase /PATH_FROM_ROOT

remove the # and insert the Path to your site.

That was not the problem at all. I had a .htaccess file from my hosting and a htaccess.txt from joomla. I had to add the contents of my .htaccess that was generated by my hosting provider in to the htaccess.txt file and then change that name. Everything is working now.
