Hi,
I just cannot get this main menu to work in topnav position.
I have set it as per the instructions but it still shows the sub menus
I have attached an image.
Website here: a2zboilermanuals.co.uk
It is the commercial Transbear
I'm sure it must be something I am doing wrong.
Just need you to have a glance.
John

Hi John,
All you have to do is go into Menu Item Details, on the left side under Parent Item: set parameters for the sub menus. Example select 'Home' or which ever menu item you want as the main or parent item . All submenus will fall under the main menu item.
Parent item:
Home
|_ Contact
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Little Bear

Hi
Thanks for the reply, the sub menus's are already set, thats not the problem, it is the fact that they do not work as they do with other templates, instead of showing the main headings they also show the sub menus.
I have tried various layout options in the module position. ie list, legacy flat list, horizontal
I have the settings as shown in the transbear template demo, just cannot get it to work as it does in purity template for instance.
I have looked through the forum for similar problems.
Regards
John

Hi John,
We've noticed you are using a previous version of the template on your site. You have to redownload and reinstall the template for sub menus to work.
Thanks

Hi,
Now I am even more disappointed, I had to renew my membership to get the later version and it still does not work.
Regarding the earlier post by Big Bear, The link you provided is where I obtained the instructions to begin with, my settings are exactly the same, except uncheck the sub menu to diplay regardless of parent item.
The first menu item has four sub menu's and they all show, the other menu item that has sub menu's does not show any sub menu's even when hovering on the item.
And yes I have cleared the cache after installing the later version 1.
The suckerfish just does not seem to work, am I missing something else to be installed.

Hi John,
You are following the instructions correctly. When looking at the css for your site we found the version of the template your are using not the latest. Downloading it again (just to be sure)and reinstalling the template will fix the problem. And submenus will work fine.

Hi
The version I had was 0.5, then I have downloaded your later version, which shows as version 1, yet the download section states it is Version 1.1, which I do not seem to be able to get.
Regards
John
Have re-install the 3rd download, emptied the cache several times, tested on firefox, opera, cometbird and explorer and everything now seems fine..wierd.
Version still shows as 1.
Thanks for your patience.
John

Hi John,
I've double checked the template download and everything seems in order - can you fully uninstall your current version and grab the latest from:
joomlabear.com/file/view/12/8.html
Or alternatively email me and I can log in for you and make sure the latest version is installed - can check your menu config while I'm about it.
Kind regards
Big Bear
