I am attempting to find a nice, clean way to showcase our Festival sponsors. Does anyone have suggestions as to a module that would help make our sponsors shine?

Our old site (still awaiting approval to make the new site live) does not have the punch that I want for our sponsors. You can see it at www.coastguardfest.org/sponsors.html

I was thinking about a "photo" wall but not sure if there is a free module out there that is fairly easy to customize.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Finally got the OK to upload the new site so now I'm in the process of uploading it...I hate waiting! LOL I took some screen shots of the old site but can't remember which site I use to use to host the pictures so I could show them to you.

Not sure it is going fine...I talked to the company that hosts our site (local computer company) and he gave me directions on how to do this. I'm frustrated at the moment because it looks like approximately 6000 files have failed to upload. Looks like I'm going to have to give him another call.

6000 files ??? Where you have the site? online or local? What is the way you upload it??

As a tip: Install akeebabackup from www.akeebabackup.com/ and backup your site. They includes the database and the files.

The directions I was given from Vortex (the local company) was to download all the files from the online server (to my computer), then delete all the files that were online. Once finished with that I was told to upload the joomla site. Total files that failed to upload are 7279 *cry*

I just attempted to resend the files (using Filezilla) and this is the response I get
Command: STOR /www/coastguardfest.org/administrator/components/ com_joomlapack/classes/factory.php
Response: 550 /www/coastguardfest.org/administrator/components/ com_joomlapack/classes/factory.php: No such file or directory
Error: Critical file transfer error

Woot...files all uploaded...now I get to go fix what messed up! LOL

We are currently using JoomlaPack to backup the site, I'll have to look into the one you suggested.

Nice.

I see that your site works. But only the home site.
I think it is a problem with SEF URL's.

Try this: Go in the backend in the

Global Configuration >> Site seetings >> Set "Use Apache mod_rewrite" to no

UGH...I changed the setting and still getting the 500 error message. I've emailed our host to see if it might be something on their end.

Thankfully I can work on this from home tomorrow...it's just so frustrating. Really wishing I wasn't such a noob!

Thanks for all the suggestions Deutsch tragen I really do appreciate it.

Got a quick email response from our provider but not sure it's making a lot of sense to me...can someone explain what the heck he's talking about? lol

Not sure what the configuration is set to, but I did find this...

If you click the "Contact Us" page for example it takes you to here:

www.coastguardfest.org/contact-information/ contact-us

...which doesn't work, however, this DOES work:

www.coastguardfest.org/index.php/contact- information/contact-us

Note the missing "index.php". Looks like a misconfiguration with the htaccess file, URL rewriting perhaps???

But I not understand complete what have you done.

Normally I create with JoomlaPack(or now akeebabackup) a .zip file.

This I unzip on my server in the folder I want. Go with the Browser on the folder and there I see a step by step manual to restore my projekt. They ask me the Database login-data and so on.

The problem is that your hoster not allow .htaccess files. When the SEF can not read the htaccess file, they not set the index.php between I think. They must enable it and it runs!!!

For one more test, create a .htaccess file with this config:

AuthType Basic
AuthName "Test"
Require user
Require group

save it in your joomla root folder. WARNING: Backup your original .htaccess file before overwrite. When your server is configured correct, it must come a password retrieval when you want open your site.
