I am getting this error in the global configuration when I change anything:
JFolder::create: Could not create directory.

I have open access from my hosting company to make changes to the directory. Not sure if this is why I am also finding my site kills the server once a week.

Does anyone know where these errors orginate from so I can fix up my site?

this must be a problem with the rights. Please go at first in the backend and check under Help >> System Infos >> Directory Permissions that all the folders are writable. Mostly it is when you moved the site on another server or set a new domain (I mean you do this last week?) Probably this folders are unwritable:

Cache Directory
Log Directory
Temp Directory

Then you can also look that the owner on your Joomla Installation Folder is you www user.
