Joomla Templates

Let me preface this with the fact that I am a new joomla user and have just a very basic idea of how things work. I am having a problem though with the links in the backend working properly when I have this template set as default. Whenever I click on a hyperlink, for example to edit an article, it takes me to a blank page (firefox) or gives me a 500 error (IE). As long as I can check a checkbox and click edit, things work fine however. I messed with permissions and still couldn't get it to work, but I noticed that when I used any other template, the links started working again...very strange. Am I missing something obvious? I really love the template and would really like to continue using it.

...so it must have been a coincidence that the links happened to work when I changed templates, because now when I change templates they still don't work.

Argh. Anyone have any ideas why all the backend links wouldn't work unless I use the checkboxes?

Can you post a link to your site - apologies for the delayed response I've been very busy with my day job; building Joomla websites to pay the bills :)

I'm wondering if messing with the permissions might not be a good thing if you are new to Joomla - they are generally correct when you install.

Where are you hosting this? Does sound like a server issue to me.

Thanks for the offer of help, I couldn't figure things out and it was driving me crazy, so I just deleted everything and started over. Thanks though!
