Mod Mainmenu (top menu) alignment & Highlighting 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I am trying to get my main menu (top menu) aligned to the right. I've changed the options in the 'Menu Icon Alignment' options of the module but no luck. It worked in BB 1.5 2 column.

Also, as is in use on this site, how do you have the menu links/icons (ie Home, Downloads, Forum) highlighted? I've tried 'Full Active Highlighting'. For some reason 'Calendar', one of the menu icons, is active regardless of the page I am on. Any ideas would be much appreciated?

CAn you post a link? I'm unsure exactly what template you'reusing and its always easier to analyze the problem when I can see the code

It seems to default to Calendar on the active highlighting regardless of the page I'm on.

Ok - I've checked the demo BB1.5 and I have it published as legacy-flat-list in the module parameters - I not from looking at your source code that th menu is being wrapped in table tags so maybe you are using legacy horizontal? Let me know if this helps - might solve the slight misalignment you have as well - did you manage to get the menu aligned right cause that looks ok to me.

Cheers

I've used legacy-flat-list but the menu is still on the left. The weird thing is Ive just upgraded to Firefox 3 and the menu is on the right!

So; Firefox 2 - left
Firefox 3 - Right
IE 7 - Left

Menu Icon Alignment is set to right. The full active highlighting doesn't work in any of the browsers, it highlights the first link you click on when opening a browser session.

What combination of options do I need in 'Legacy Parameters' to allow the active page to be highlighted?

Many thanks for your help so far.

Try tweaking this:

[code:1]ul#nav{
position:«»static;

margin-right: 36px;

font-size: 12px;
}[/code:1]

To this:

[code:1]ul#nav{
float:right;

margin-right: 36px;

font-size: 12px;
}[/code:1]

Let me know if that does the trick.

Also your head.png does not seem to be wide enough?

Attached is a 990px head.png - you'll want to ad your grpahics to it
File Attachment:
File Name: head.zip
File Size: 1374

It works ok in Firefox 3 but will need to check it in IE.

I've tried different combinations of the parameters for the top menu module but am unable to get the active highlighting working; ie remain highlighted if the user is on that page.

Hi!

I solved this problem by editing also the ul#nav a tag in css:

from this:
[code:1]ul#nav a{
float:left;

height: 26px;
line-height: 26px;
text-decoration:none;
color: #FFF;
font-weight: bold;
padding-left:15px;
padding-right:15px;

}[/code:1]

to this:
[code:1]
ul#nav a{
float:right;

height: 26px;
line-height: 26px;
text-decoration:none;
color: #FFF;
font-weight: bold;
padding-left:15px;
padding-right:15px;

}
[/code:1]

Now I can see top menu in right in Firefox and in IE6/7

bye!
