I must agree when folks say the Transparent Bliss 1.5 Template is most impressive.
When viewing in firefox it renders beautifully. However the IE issue is depressing.
As with Yoshiyah I am having issues with the right column dropping down.
I took your advise and looked for a fixed element that would be pushing down but have been unable to locate the cause.
Since Yoshiyah is unable to show you pages please consider viewing this one that I am working on.

Some times I think it would be easier just to convince the masses of switching to firefox then messing with special code for IE.
Thanks for your time.

Hi All,
Please make sure you replace the template.css for transparent bliss with the updated on in this post.

Also the transparency fix relies on the path to the file iepngfix.htc being correct - if you install Joomla in a subdirectory of your main domain you need to check that this path is ok in your index.php - you'll see some code that looks like the below:

<!--[if IE 6]>
<style type="text/css">
img, div, td { behavior: url(/templates/transparent_bliss_1.5/js/iepngfix.htc); }
</style>

Also if you have installed Joomla in a subdomain you should check the iepngfix.htc file and make sure the path to blank.gif is correct in the 9th line of text - this may have to be changed if Joomla is not installed in the root directory.

We will hopefully imporve this in the next release of Transparent Bliss - just so busy on client work at the present which is what pays the bills - I just don't have time to do much JoomlaBear work this week

I have the same issue on my (test) site even with the updated css. My impression is that the root cause for this behaviour is that the font in IE6 is slightly larger (wider) than in Firefox (few pixels only) - and the dotted lines are slightly longer pushing the middle block to the right:

In fact, the dotted lines exceed the left box in Firefox, too, but they are really dotted while IE6 displays them dashed...

Did not have the time to play around with the css yet, and I am no css expert anyway, so appreciate if anyone else would find a solution.
I'd really like to have this issue fixed because this template is my preferred one - thanks so far, Big Bear.

Thanks to jdl for drawing attention to the menu lines extending past the module. I changed the css and took out the two references to dotted and it not only decreased the gap but in my opinion looks smoother. I then took a closer look at the graphic I had placed in the top right position and after shrinking its width down to 150 px everything fell into place.

Thanks to Big Bear for pointing out the path reference for the blank.gif which fixed the annoying borders at the top and bottom of the columns that IE displayed.

Also note I installed the updated iepngfix files from www.twinhelix.com/css/iepngfix/

A HUGE Thanks to JoomlaBear for the beautiful template.

I think I have the first part of a solution. Like uhlbek I played around with the width declared for .menu li a (I suppose, that is what you did?) but at first attempt missed the second declaration in template-ie6.css. I simply reduced the two width declarations by 10 each:
template.css:
[code:1].menu li a {
display: block;
height: 20px;
padding: 3px;
position: relative;
left: 1px;
width: 162px; /* Original 172px */
border-bottom-width: 1px;
border-bottom-style: dotted;
border-bottom-color: #666666;
background-image: url(../images/star.png);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: 4px 50%;
}
[/code:1]
template-ie6.css (second occurence!):
[code:1].menu li a {
width: 168px; /* Original 178px */
}
[/code:1]
This reduced both the length of the dotted lines in FF and IE6, and it limited the highlighting for hover to the left box, and the right box returned to its intended position - see
http://neu.lippoldnet.de (note that this is my test site for Joomla 1.5)
There seems to be a similar issue with the centre block displaying individual notes:

Looks like the same issue as reported above for the gallery and the forum. I don't know yet where this is declared...

Alright, I think I fixed this, too, by adding the following code to template-ie6.css:
[code:1]#rightinner2 {
width: 600px; /* new */
}[/code:1]

Appreciate if you could verify and if JoomlaBear could update the css with these changes.
- hptschupp: do your gallery and forum display correctly if you apply this?

There is maybe one minor thing left: The navigation text (Previous/Next or Zurück/Weiter) displays in a quite large font in IE...

Cheers
